  • Chuck Liddell and Tito Ortiz

Mixed martial arts legends Chuck Liddell and Tito Ortiz return to the cage in the early hours of Sunday morning to renew their 14-year-long rivalry.

Had he proved victorious on Saturday night, Liddell had shown interest in a fight with current pound-for-pound great Jon Jones. Ortiz followed up with a couple of more punches but Liddell was already laid out on the mat unconscious.

Hear everything Chuck Liddell had to say at the Liddell vs Ortiz 3 post-fight press conference.

Ortiz, who already suffered two KO/TKO losses at the hands of Liddell at UFC 47 and UFC 66, but last night "The Huntington Beach Bad Boy" earn an emphatic win over Liddell and shortly after he announced that he'd be hanging his gloves for good but will remain active as a fight promoter. You pushed me so hard for all of these years and you made me work hard. "There is nobody left I want to fight". You gave me a chance to do what I love to do. I made a mistake.

It's hard to gauge the performance of Ortiz against this version of Liddell. Sadly, after teasing that he would change his mind on retiring, he urged Liddell to keep fighting and that he and De La Hoya would promote him.

"I came back and got in great shape", Liddell said. I wish I had performed better tonight for all the incredible people who came to support me.

"We are going to have to sit back and think about [the future]". This is how champions do it.
