  • Meet this year's holiday cups

Halloween is behind us and now it's officially time for the holidays - which means Starbucks is rolling out its holiday cups.

Starbucks says it listened to customers when it came to picking these designs, who said they love the tradition of Christmas.

"We started this season by looking to the past", said Kristy Cameron from the Starbucks Creative Studio. Upon introducing the minimalist cup, Starbucks Vice President Jeffrey Fields said it was a way to "usher in the holidays with a purity of design that welcomes all of our stories".

This year, the designs are appropriately festive, although the color choices are more evocative of Christmas than the other season's celebrations.

Stars, stripes, flames and coffee cherries, all adorned in cheerful shades of red and green.

Holiday magic is arriving at Starbucks stores on Friday.

This year, the company is strictly sticking with Christmas. This year, Starbucks is leaning into the holiday.

A reusable cup, in red, will also be given away to anyone who orders a holiday drink on November 2, and can be brought back to the store between November 3 and January 7 to receive 50 cents off a beverage.

Customers who order a holiday beverage today will get the cup at participating stores while supplies last, according to the company.

Eggnog Lattes, Gingerbread Lattes, Caramel Brûlé Lattes, Chestnut Praline Lattes and Peppermint Mochas are all back on the menu in 24 hours.

Starbucks is also bravely bringing back that iconic, solid red cup-this year in a reusable form (let's hope the cries of "War on Christmas!" don't return as well).
