  • Roger Stone Ally Jerome Corsi Reportedly in Plea Negotiations With Mueller

Stone and WikiLeaks have denied coordination, but in August 2016 - before WikiLeaks published the emails - the Republican operative tweeted, "It will soon the Podesta's time in the barrel", referring to former counselor to President Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta.

Jerome Corsi, right, arrives at the immigration department in Nairobi, Kenya. He told supporters it was because he "dared to support Donald Trump" and "opposed the deep state".

Last week, when ABC News asked if he would be open to making a plea deal with the special counsel's office should they charge him in coming days, Corsi replied, "What's there to be a plea deal with?" and expressed his suspicions about the possible charges investigators may claim against him. CNN has reported that Mueller's team is examining the possibility that Stone had another intermediary beyond Credico, and that Corsi might have been involved. By October 2016, Stone had not worked for Trump's campaign for over a year.

In a video broadcast to his YouTube channel last month, Corsi said that he had met with Mueller's office for 40 hours and expressed concern he would face life in prison, adding that the interviews left his brain feeling like "mush".

Roger Stone, a longtime political adviser and friend to President Donald Trump, speaks in Boca Raton, Florida, on March 21, 2017.

If Corsi were to cut a plea deal with Mueller and agree to cooperate with the ongoing Russian Federation investigation, he would be the 33rd individual defendant charged by Mueller's team.

Stone also denied he had been given any concrete information about the Podesta emails by Corsi, saying in a statement to CBS News that his discussions with Corsi about brothers John and Tony Podesta "were strictly limited to their overseas business interests unearthed in the Panama Papers and other public sources that were writing about John and Tony's activities".

In response to the revelation on the plea agreement, Stone told ABC News that he is not aware of any plea talks involving Corsi.

Mueller's team questioned Corsi as part of an investigation into Stone's connections with WikiLeaks.
