Liverpool suffered a number of injury problems with players on global duty.

It has been a troubled break for the Reds, with Mohamed Salah and Naby Keita also doubts for Saturday's Premier League clash with Huddersfield, while Virgil van Dijk has been playing despite a rib problem.

During the most recent worldwide break, Virgil van Djk, Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Naby Keita all suffered injuries, causing something of a meltdown from Liverpool fans on Twitter.

A spokesperson for the EFA said the "allegations are incorrect", but did confirm Salah arrived at the Egypt squad with a report on his medical condition - as is common practice. The forward could play with a protective cast on his left hand, should the club be willing to take the risk.

Mane, meanwhile, had surgery on a broken thumb picked up while playing for Senegal and Keita damaged his hamstring for Guinea - with scan results yet to be confirmed although it has been suggested he could be out for a fortnight.

But the Daily Star suggests Liverpool FC could have an edge over their rivals given the Hoffenheim star shares the same management as current Reds star Naby Keita and Sadio Mane.

Specifically on Van Dijk, who featured for Netherlands in a victory over Germany last Saturday before returning to Melwood and sitting out his country's draw with Belgium, Klopp insisted there were no long-term concerns over his recent rib injury.

And Holland manager Ronald Koeman has revealed Van Dijk should be fit to face the Terriers.

Van Dijk also returned to Merseyside early due to an on-going rib injury that's hampered him in recent weeks but Klopp has confirmed the Dutch global has fully recovered and is available to face the Terriers.
