Joel Sherman of the New York Post reports that McCutchen is owed about $2 million for the rest of the campaign.

The New York Yankees have acquired veteran outfielder Andrew McCutchen in a trade with the San Francisco Giants, the team announced Friday.

In 130 games with San Francisco, McCutchen hit.255 with 15 home runs, 55 RBIs and 13 stolen bases.

McCutchen is not yet with the Yankees - he traveled from San Francisco to NY on Friday and is expected to be in Saturday's lineup - but he did get a head start on conforming to team rules.

McCutchen could help fill in for an injured Aaron Judge in the outfield, who has not played since July 26 when he suffered a chip fracture in his right wrist. In addition, the team has been without prospect Clint Frazier who has been recovering from a concussion.

McCutcheon will likely make his debut for the Yankees on Saturday, Boone said.

McCutchen certainly does look a lot different without his trademark beard, but for we're sure he won't mind being in the thick of the American League pennant hunt. He'll be a free agent after this season. The 2013 National League MVP and a five-time all-star, but a player whose numbers have dropped off in recent years, McCutchen was in his first season with the Giants after spending his first nine with the Pirates.

He is in the final season of a six-year, $51.5 million contract he signed in March 2012.

The 23-year-old Avelino was hitting a combined.287 with 15 homers, 66 RBIs and 25 steals at Triple-A and Double-A. De Paula, 20, was at Class A Staten Island this seaso, going 2-2 with a 1.71 ERA in 10 appearances (nine starts).
