After the incident, Pallett complained to the show's producers about Thomas's behaviour and he was issued him with a formal warning for physical contact by Big Brother bosses.

Celebrity Big Brother released a statement this morning announcing Roxanne's departure from the show following a controversial few days.

The Press Association reports that a spokesman for Channel 5 said the other housemates had been informed of Pallett's decision.

Roxanne has been heavily criticised this week after accusing Coronation Street actor Ryan Thomas of "punching her six times in the ribs" on Celebrity Big Brother.

A spokeswoman for Pallett told the Press Association: "Roxanne chose to leave the CBB house late last night after deliberating for two days with some sensitive issues she felt strongly about".

"She has now been reunited with her fiancé and family and thanks everyone for their support during her time in the show".

The former Emmerdale actor's exit comes after media watchdog Ofcom received thousands of complaints. "And we weren't play-fighting, there was no banter; it wasn't a joke".

In a clip filmed in the house on Friday, Thomas told Pallett: "I want you to know from the bottom of my heart I was showing my affection".

When he was asked further about how he feels about Pallett, Jardine said: "All I'll say is she's a lovely girl, she does what she does".

"Maybe it came across the wrong way. He actually punched me like a boxer would punch a bag".

An emotional Roxanne replied: "I'm not questioning your integrity".

Looking emotional, the star said: "I'm just a little bit in shock. I don't think she is mentally fit to be in the house".

Speaking in 2016 after she left the house early in the wake of David Bowie's death, Angie said: "You don't get paid your full fee, there's like a clause, you get a per day rate". "I am sorry and I understand", Thomas said.

It was confirmed that the former Emmerdale actress had quit Celebrity Big Brother.
