Gary Neville has spoken of his belief that Liverpool could usurp Manchester City to win their first league title since 1990 - especially if they can keep front three Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino fresh.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is demanding greater consistency from his players ahead of their clash with Tottenham.

Given the manner of the defeat at Wembley last season, Liverpool will be desperate to beat Spurs when they travel to London tomorrow.

Liverpool, who reached the Champions League final in May, were only able to finish in fourth place in the league table a year ago, 25 points behind champions Manchester City.

'Gary should come over and tell me exactly how that works.

"I think you should go for all competitions", he said. How do you prepare for a game when you don't focus on it?

"The most hard [thing] is when you don't have a lot of players", said Klopp.

The Argentinian said: "He needs to provide the team with his best, but maybe in the circumstances we are like a team, or when he plays with England it's maybe not the best conditions for a striker to give the best".

"We are disappointed because we're going to miss him for this game and possibly Inter Milan in the Champions League, but it is not a big issue".

"That's what we try".

"Sitting in an office talking about football is different to doing the job". You're gonna have to bring in a centre forward, and you say to him "you're gonna be a sub because I've got one of the best strikers in the world in Harry Kane". It will be interesting to see who Klopp picks in midfield, but there is a strong chance that Naby Keita will be back in the XI after he missed out last time, probably alongside James Milner and one other.

Jordan Henderson and Heung-min Son during the Premier League match between Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield on February 4, 2018 in Liverpool, England.

"The football they are playing under Jürgen Klopp, it's fantastic. I think they'll win this one but toppling Manchester City for the title will be so hard".

"We know Harry Kane well and have worked with him the last more than four years - and we know this is not a situation that worries us".
