  • Jim Jordan Denies Reports He Hid Sexual Abuse at Ohio State

Former UFC world heavyweight champion Mark Coleman became the fifth former Ohio State University wrestler to claim that Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), a former OSU assistant wrestling coach, knew about the sexual abuse by a team doctor, the Wall Street Journal reported.

"I don't believe them at all", Trump said to the press pool on the plane. For any teacher, protecting kids is the absolute first priority-and I say that as a former kindergarten teacher. "No question in my mind", Trump added in the Thursday comments to reporters aboard Air Force One as they headed out for a Trump campaign rally in Montana.

Two former university wrestlers said Jordan was not being truthful when asserting he was unaware of allegations that Strauss was abusing athletes.

Now anyone familiar with the president's relationship with factual evidence or with sex abuse allegations is very unlikely to take his word for Jordan's innocence unless they do so by blind faith in MAGA or really don't care what's true or false. Jordan was Yetts' weight-class coach at the time, and the two spoke frequently about Strauss, he said. "Jim Jordan has an obligation to cooperate fully with that investigation".

"We knew of no abuse, never heard of abuse".

Jordan has vehemently denied any knowledge of the alleged abuse.

Doug Andres says the university has "rightfully initiated a full investigation into the matter" and the speaker will "await the findings of that inquiry".

"He knew", DiSabato said in a brief phone interview with The Washington Post.

The allegations come at a critical time for Jordan, whom conservative outside groups have endorsed as a possible replacement for House Speaker Paul Ryan, R-Wis., who is not running for reelection.

"What happened drove me out of the sport", the former athlete, John Dailey, told NBC News.

Jordan's office also said that it had not been contacted by investigators from the university looking into the accusations.

"I think Jim is in a position where he doesn't know what to say now", said DiSabato, blaming Jordan's stance on "terrible advice" from political advisers. "So it's sad for me to hear that he's denying knowing about Strauss", Yetts told NBC.

Dailey's accusations come after other university wrestlers said Jordan knew about Strauss, who died in 2005, and did not act. Sources tell Fox News that Jordan had previously forwarded the emails to Chief of Staff Kevin Eichinger and Jordan's attorney. He recalled an incident where Strauss - whose locker was next to Jordan's - had dressed after a shower to leave the building, but then disrobed and went back in for another one after noticing a favorite athlete entering the shower room.

"But to say that he had no knowledge of it, I would say that's kind of hurtful", Dailey said.
