  • Fortnite players meeting at ‘the rocket’ for tomorrow’s first real time mystery event

Make sure to get on the game by 10:30am PT / 1:30pm ET / 6:30pm BST / 7:30pm CET tomorrow (Saturday 30th) to see what happens if you're interested.

The reason an exact time is being talked about for launching the Fortnite Rocket is due to it being a live in-game event.

The only thing to speculate on now is how the launch will affect the game. An in-game message has specified exactly when that rocket lifts off, and the event is coming very soon. The event, which is now referred to as 'Blast Off!' will only happen once so this will be the only chance players get to see what unfolds. Naturally, players and fan-blogs were eager to piece together the clues. A hologram had appeared suddenly, above what looked like a control panel.

While Epic hasn't formally announced what will happen this Saturday, something else has been taking place on the island in recent days, and many Fortnite players suspect that the two are related.

Since then, an alarm has started blaring near the lair, seemingly confirming that a launch is imminent. There have been teases that this will point to some big changes for Fortnite Season 5, which is set to begin on Thursday, July 12 at 1AM PT. Shacknews will continue to follow this story and will offer any updates as they come in.

The exact reason why is not clear, but it seems that Epic was extremely keen on letting everybody know - perhaps to ensure that a bunch of gawkers don't show up on Sunday for the glorious spectacle that is a crushing wave of realisation that you missed the actual glorious spectacle.

For the most part, players watched side by side in a truce for the opportunity to catch the one time launch.
