While you were sleeping, Meek Mill quietly removed his Drake diss “Wanna Know” from his SoundCloud page on Tuesday night and conceded in his battle with Drake. Taking the song down probably saves him a potential lawsuit from WWE. Giving up the fight against Drake will allow him to save money and more in the long run.

Apparently, Meek tweeted then deleted a lengthy comment addressing the situation, saying, “I’m not entertaining no rap/real beef over drake s/o a rapper!” Besides referencing “getting money” numerous times, he managed to say the type of intelligent words that make him a winner, not because he won the battle — which he clearly did not — but by being sensible enough to realize that he couldn’t win and Drake was making gains at his expense.

“I don’t feel like I gotta try to prove myself to people and end up in a real situation over this fake rap sh*t!” he wrote. “All this killer sh*t on social media is like walking ya self into prison, and that ain’t my lifestyle.”

Meek Mill comes to his senses.. Posted and deleted this comment. Says he doesn’t have to prove himself. Good read.pic.twitter.com/8cEIb2DKxV

Meek’s big mouth and living by street rules are what got him in the middle of this mess. While I admire his honesty and desire to be a stand-up guy, a man learns that, at a certain point, those rules should give way to responsible thinking, like “getting money” and taking care of yourself and those in your immediate circle. Beefing with Drake was only hurting his bottom line, and, as hometown rappers were starting to nip at his heels, the whole thing was making his life hell.

Every lesson learned comes at an expense. The Philly rapper’s paying the costs now and taking the lumps associated with this one, but, eventually, he’ll bounce back. The general public is very fickle, and their attention is fleeting. All Meek has to do is drop one hot song and what went down over the past few weeks won’t even be remembered.
